RIGHTS MANAGEMENT LIFECYCLE

Digital Rights Management

IPNS enables legal file sharing based on a powerful new “rights-based” transaction model, enabling:

  • Content owners to package, promote, sell and distribute their content further -- across multiple networks and devices -- while protecting their digital assets and maintaining brand control.
    .
  • Communities to legally buy, sell, trade, share, store, and access their digital collections – and to redeliver their content any time they want.

Our unique approach provides registered user with a “digiport media locker” on the Internet to store, access and manage the rights to their digital content collection, such as the right to download, the right to share with a friend (or more), or even the right to redeliver or “super distribute”. Content owners determine the rights and rules for each digital asset made available in the system.

How does it work?

Although we offer file security management with WM DRM technology to our partners, our platform is a DRM-agnostic solution, “rights” to content are managed separately from digital content files, much like today’s web separates the presentation layer from the content.
IPNS achieves this by modeling anything of value as a digital bearer instrument or “Title,” (similar to a stock certificate), with the rights to Re-Sell, Or transfer ownership.

We support a broad base of creative models like:

  • Web or media content
  • Limited edition digital goods
  • A payment instrument
  • A promotional offer
  • Loyalty points
  • Document management

Now content owners can allow their assets to be published, accessed, managed, traded, shared, transferred and redeemed just like real world assets. IPNS tracks the content as it moves from content owner to buyer, and from buyer to seller, as users share their newly acquired content with others through viral marketing or ”super distribution”.

Enabling new forms of commerce

Digital content can now be physically located anywhere – enabling content owners to flexibly combine different types of content into a single offer. For example, the ring tone, video, wallpaper, and even the t-shirt for a movie could be combined into a compelling bundle. Digital offers can be made simultaneously in multiple venues. Digital cash and private label currencies can be created and distributed on digital networks and sent person-to-person at virtually no cost, like email
