IPNS Software Developer's Kit™

The IP Network Systems Software Developer's Kit (SDK) provides application developers the tools they need to register copyright information with the IPNS Digital Media Registry. It provides developers with the information they need in order to determine whether files can be shared, purchased or downloaded according to the use terms set by the copyright owners, and add these products and services to new applications and products.

The IPNS SDK includes the following components:


Complete Documentation

• Concept Guide: The SDK provides a concept guide that provides developers with an overview of the IPNS Right's Management Gateway and the application development process.

• Integration Guide: This document describes how to use the components in the SDK effectively to perform the functions and operations provided by the IPNS Right's Management Gateway.

• API Reference Guide: This guide provides a complete description of the IPNS API and IPNS Suite of XML-based certificates used to communicate authorizations for the sharing, purchasing and downloading of content.

The IPNS Client Plug-In

• The IPNS Client Plug-In is a set of dynamic link libraries (DLLs) that implement the IPNS API. These DLLs are distributed with the client application and communicate with the IPNS Rights Management Gateway to obtain copyright information about tracks that users wish to share, purchase and download.

Developer Resources

• Libraries, object and data definitions used by developers to build and compile applications.

Debugging Resources

• Debug versions of the IPNS DLLs for use while debugging applications. These resources provide the developer more information when run from Microsoft Visual Studio, allowing the execution flow of the software to be monitored.
